How Dressing Well Makes You More Money

  1. It makes you memorable.

Whether you’re interviewing for a new role at a company or you’re trying to keep your brand at the top of your audiences mind, there’s no doubt that dressing well will make you more memorable. When you’re memorable to a hiring manager or potential client then your chances of getting hired for the job increase exponentially (thus leading to more money). If you’re looking for ways to make yourself more memorable try wearing things that highlight your personality. For example, if your a risk taker try incorporating bold colors into your look (just make sure to tone the color palette down in more formal settings).

  2. It strengthens your negotiating skills.

It’s no secret that when you dress well you tend to feel more confident. That confidence that you feel tends shows up in a variety of different areas: it shows up in how you walk, it shows up in how you talk, and it even shows up in how you negotiate. In contrast, having that infectious confidence and dressing a few levels above your potential client can create a sense of power and authority in your clients mind. This opens up the opportunity for you to get the biggest profits or outcome from your negotiation and in turn it can make the client feel as if they’re in good hands. So the next time you need you need a confidence boost try selecting pieces that positively highlight your body shape (if you need some assistance with this then make sure to book a body shape analysis with us ASAP!)

  3. It matches clients and companies expectations.

When it comes to spending money and hiring the best talent both clients and companies have expectations or specific things they’re looking for in the right candidate. One of the main things is how well that candidate presents his or her self. This is mainly expected in more prominent positions like a lawyer, broker, financial advisor, etc. However, lower level positions are not exempt either (think luxury sales associates, bankers, etc.). In short, it’s always best to dress in a way that’s professional and matches your client or companies expectations. For example, if you’re a relator that sells luxury properties then it’s worth it to invest in higher end pieces like suits and pay attention to details since your affluent client base is familiar with and gravitates towards such things. To sum it up, when you start to tailor your wardrobe to match your clients expectations then you can expect your conversion rate to increase overtime (if you need some help with synching your wardrobe to meet your clients expectations then let us handle your visual branding. We’ll give you a whole new look that’s sure to convert!).

  4. It makes you look competent.

If you were walking into a car dealership would you prefer to go with the guy dressed in jeans and a polo or the man dressed in a nice suit? Majority of people would choose the man dressed in the nice suit because he looks more competent and capable of getting the job done. The sad part is that both men could be extremely capable of getting you the best car and delivering the best experience (in fact the guy in the polo and jeans could be the better choice) but what separates them is the power of dressing well. The man who put thought into his attire is most likely going to be the one that generates the most leads which will ultimately lead him to getting the most sales and referrals. If you want to start looking more competent and making more money you will want to start with putting some serious thought and effort into your wardrobe. It also doesn’t hurt to go above and beyond the companies dress code (in a good way of course!).
